Five Star FCU’s Annual Meeting held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, had a special focus: our 50th Anniversary. Board Chairman Paul Coakley, who joined the credit union in 1969, recalled the earliest days of St. Agnes Employees Federal Credit Union. Our first Saint Agnes Hospital branch office was staffed by part-time volunteers then moved and expanded several times to its current location near the cafeteria. We added a second branch office in the Maiden Choice Medical Center in 2000 then moved in 2015, purchasing space in the 716 Building in the same office park.
President Jim Whipp’s remarks described our successful financial results for 2018, including our November merger with the W.R. Grace MD Employees Federal Credit Union, adding a third branch office on the Grace Company’s Curtis Bay campus twice a week.
Attending members who have belonged to our credit union since 1969 were thanked for their 50 years of loyal membership.
After the results for the Board of Directors election were tallied, the following Board members were elected for a two-year term:
- Paul Caokley
- Marleen Griffin
- Franklin (“Frank”) King
- Karen McLaughlin
- Carolyn Moore
